Philippines Typhoon

Following a large earthquake last month, which itself caused great damage and loss of life, The Philippines has also now suffered further widespread devastation as a result of Typhoon Yolanda (also known as Haiyan). The storm, which hit the country on 8th November, is one of the strongest in recorded history and has resulted in the loss of life of thousands of people and displaced many more.

Project Seahorse, led by the first ever Whitley Award winner, Amanda Vincent has worked with coastal communities in the Philippines for over 20 years and the thoughts of all at WFN are with the team and the local people with whom they work.

The Project Seahorse website has more information on how the disaster is affecting people in the region and also gives details on how you can help through the emergency relief fund set up by ZSL.
