Edward Whitley attends WCN Expo 2014

At the beginning of October, Edward Whitley, founder of the Whitley Fund for Nature, attended the Wildlife Conservation Network (WCN) annual Expo in San Francisco. This globally recognised and inspiring event enables WCN’s Conservation Partners (of which there are 14) to share their experiences of saving wildlife around the world. They were joined by guest speakers including Iain Douglas-Hamilton, more than 40 organisations committed to animal conservation or welfare, and over 1,000 supporters. Five previous Whitley Award winners were in attendance, some of whom are also WCN Partners and gave presentations during the event. They included 2014 winner Shivani Bhalla, 2012 winner Joanna Alfaro-Shigueto, 2011 Gold Award winner Rachel Graham, 2011 winner Elena Bykova, and 1998 winner Claudio Sillero – a group of outstanding conservationists working on a diverse range of conservation projects, from sharks in Belize to saiga antelope in Uzbekistan.

Thank you to WCN for hosting this informative and enjoyable event to highlight the important work of conservationists around the globe.
