Çağan Şekercioğlu on BBC 2’s Turkey with Simon Reeve

Cagan won his first Whitley Gold Award in 2008 and went on to win again in 2013. He currently oversees the largest active conservation project in Turkey which is protecting, connecting and restoring habitat for endangered wildlife, providing a vital corridor between Turkey and neighbouring Georgia.

He has undertaken the first radio and satellite tagging studies of bears, wolves and lynx in the country and also monitors birds of prey and wetland birds to inform the ground breaking conservation action that he is spearheading.
