Leaving a Legacy to WFN
Thank you for your interest in leaving a legacy to WFN. These gifts are so important in enabling us to protect endangered species and ecosystems for future generations to come.
You will be supporting practical conservation led by local people in places where funding is most needed and often hardest to raise.
During the last 22 years we have created a network of over 170 Whitley Award winners in 70 different countries who work to address threats to wildlife such as habitat destruction, overexploitation of wild resources and human-wildlife conflict. Our winners are usually nationals of the countries where they work and are creating the next generation of conservation leaders through education and training of local people.
Writing a Will can seem daunting and we advise you speak to a solicitor; however, if you have any questions about leaving a legacy to WFN, please do not hesitate to contact us using the below details and we will be more than happy to help.

You can also download our Legacies Pack which provides information on writing or updating your Will and answers frequently asked questions.
If you would like more information we would be happy to:
- Arrange a face-to-face meeting with the WFN team to talk about the different ways in which your gift can be used and the positive difference it will make.
- Provide some suggested wording for your Will that can be given to your solicitor.
If you have already remembered WFN in your Will, then thank you. Your gift – no matter how large or small – will help us support grassroots conservationists undertaking work of critical importance around the developing world. In return, we promise to use your gift effectively and respect any wishes you might have for how we use that gift.
We understand that the contents of your Will are private. However if you choose to let us know that you have mentioned The Whitley Fund for Nature in your Will, then we would love to hear from you so that we have the opportunity to extend our gratitude.
“It’s true to say that WFN is a very special organisation. It’s small. It’s very precisely focussed…and so it is able to give its money where it really counts; where every penny counts.” WFN Trustee, Sir David Attenborough
