There is another chance to watch or record the amazing BBC Natural World documentary, “The Bat Man of Mexico” about 2012 Whitley Gold Award winner Rodrigo Medellin on BBC2 at 9am on Thursday the 26th June. The film will also be available to watch on BBC iPlayer over the following week.
The film has received rave reviews and has been shortlisted for the for the Wildscreen People and Nature Award. It brilliantly captures Rodrigo’s exciting work and underlines how amazing and under appreciated bats are. For example, without the lesser long-nosed bat – along with Rodrigo, the star of the film – we would have no tequila! This species is the main pollinator of the the agave plant from which Mexico’s most famous export is made.
