Keynotes from the Whitley Awards 2019
WFN Patron, HRH The Princess Royal gave a speech to some 500 guests at the Whitley Awards Ceremony 2019, held at the Royal Geographical Society on 1st May. This year’s Ceremony marked the 20th year of Her Royal Highness’ patronage, and she has not missed a single ceremony. During her speech, she praised the achievements of the 2019 winners, and spoke of the importance of keeping the bar high following the success of WFN’s 25th Anniversary fundraising, all made possible thanks to our generous supporters.
WFN Founder, Edward Whitley, spoke of the impact of our 200 winners to date and the need for collaboration across national borders in order to safeguard biodiversity over the long term, with both political and public support.
