Whitley Awards 2024: A look behind the scenes

What does the Whitley Award ceremony mean to the Winners of these prestigious Awards?

Described as ‘igniting a true sense of conservation optimism’, the Ceremony event was supported by Whitley Fund for Nature Patron, HRH The Princess Royal, and marked the official beginning of the new cohort of conservationists joining the WFN Winner Network.

A celebration of our globally #SharedFuture, the 2024 Awards ceremony recognised successful conservation projects taking place in Guyana, Papua New Guinea, Bhutan, Cameroon, Nepal and Brazil, while looking ahead to the new, more ambitious goals that the £50,000 Whitley Award funding will enable the Winners to achieve.

The evening’s proceedings at the Royal Geographical Society were compèred by WFN Ambassadors Tom Heap and Kate Humble in front of an audience of 400 attendees including donors, supporters and country Ambassadors.
