We did it! Big Give Christmas Challenge success

We are thrilled to announce that we have surpassed our goal of raising £100,000 through the UK’s biggest match-funding scheme!

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we raised £101,150 during the Big Give week, courtesy of 42 donors who were match funded.

This year, the Christmas Challenge was held in memory of our friend and long-term supporter, Britta Lloyd.

The funds we have raised together through the Big Give Christmas Challenge will help to support our 2023 Continuation Funding winners; Whitley Award alumni who are poised to scale-up successful projects.

Through sustainable, long-term projects, past winners are able to achieve impressive impact. 87% of alumni surveyed for WFN’s 2023 Impact Assessment reported reduced threats to ecosystems and wildlife as a result of their project activities, collectively planting 900,000 mangroves and over 15 million trees. Together, they’ve influenced over 200 policies to improve environmental protection, and reached over 4 million people through education and engagement.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported our cause during this year’s Big Give! We look forward to sharing with you the stories of the 2023 of Continuation Funding winners that you’ve helped to fund, in due course.
